My son and niece have started their own band with all of their Plan Toys. They almost always end up fighting over who gets to play with the xylophone, though. My son loves the range of sound it makes and my niece loves the colors. It is beautiful in both aspects and I think I'm going to get another to end the quarreling!

It is a very safe xylophone compared to other products with metal plates. Every edge is rounded. That's the main reason I bought it. But they can't name it "xylophone." It is horribly off key and not melodic at all. I would have chosen something else if I could have tried it before I bought it (problem of Internet shopping).

We bought this for our son who is 10 months. Still too young for it, as he just wants to chew on the stick. But it has a lovely sound. Would be nice if the higher tones sounded as nice as the lower ones, they sound more like wood hitting wood (which is what it is, but still...). All in all, my son loves to hear the sounds it makes, and it seems VERY sturdy.

This xylophone has such a refreshing sound to it. It is a nice change from just pressing a button and hearing an entire song play, like many children's toys do today. My son loves making his own music on this one!
