This has become my son's favorite rattle! It's so cute and large enough for him to grasp in one hand. He chews on it continuously- which I don't mind seeing as it's non toxic, but I had to cut the little guy's wings off before he chewed them off and swallowed them.

At 10 months old my granddaughter, Olivia, has a mind of her own. She was sitting in my lap as I was looking for a musical toy for her. When we got to the Bee Maraca she started squeeling and pointing and I knew we found the right toy. She loves to shake it when we have music on the radio and even takes it to church to use during worship.

Our 7 month old is big enough to hold this with one hand and, as with everything, loves to chew on it (which is why we buy things from this site -- ie -- to reduce exposure to toxins from plastics, paints and the like). The neat thing about this toy is that you can't help but see this brightly colored bee and begin making buzzing noises, so it stimulates the nearby adult(s) to make buzzing sounds and to fly it toward the baby -- which baby loves. This bright and beautiful toy also seems to attract lots of other children. Whenever he has it out, other kids are drawn to it (in fact -- one mother asked me where I got it and then bought her own here). We hope that as he gets older he'll begin to use it like a maraca -- which will simply extend the use of the toy to the age range recommended on this site.
