My son just turned 5 months old. I have a regular fisher price rain forest playmat, and he absolutely loves to tug on it and chew on the ring. He is just at the stage where he is fascinated by noises and the clackers are great for holding a baby's attention. And I love the brightly painted colors of the toy, they really attract his attention, no downsides to this toy.
